1 month and 7 days

That is exactly how long it's been since I've been at L'Abri Fellowship in Canada. Living in BC, Canada on Bowen Island at L'Abri can not be described easily. I ventured out there a little nervous and not knowing what to expect, and now I sit here, presently, feeling still refreshed, feeling known, loved and encouraged. L'Abri is a special place that not many know about and fewer who understand the beauty that follows it's name. L'Abri fellowship began in the 1950's by Francis and Edith Schaeffer as a sort of intentional Christian Learning Community. They were a couple who opened up their home for their children's friends to learn and explore Christianity, to ask questions that no on else was answering and to give them the most important gift humans can give...

L'Abri is not something that will be erased from my memory easily at all. I have new friends, new family from L'Abri and I really do miss them more than I thought I would miss anyone. It's hard not to be sentimental about L'Abri when it's nothing like anything else I, or anyone for that matter, have experienced. BC is beautiful as well and I have really missed the glistening, snow-capped mountains, covered with majestic evergreens and surrounded by the glistening Pacific waters. It is indescribable and though I am an East-coaster, nothing beats what I saw and I'd have to say the East Coast bows to the West for it's beauty.

I miss it, a lot.

I miss them, even more.
